AGENDA

The West Africa Knowledge Economic Organisation (WAKEOrg) as a comprehensive integrated platform seeks to pioneer new ambitious frontiers essentially to strategically improve the state of West African economies in smart economy so as to be a strong contender for the world resources in building economic prosperity, social integration for our people and importantly steering the sub-region away from clear and present economic and social danger.

WAKEOrg strives, regardless of it”s peculiar environment to be an independent and impartial partner and to model the best practices in corporate governance and legitimises all our actions through transparency and accountability by engineering smart processes and methods.

We serve as an independent sub-regional Organisation for Public-Private cooperation committed to improving the state of West African economies, pushing for new frontiers in smart economic and social agenda

Essentially, WAKEOrg focuses on the need for West African States to be a strong contender for the world resources in building economic prosperity, social integration for today and the next millennium and importantly steering the sub-region away from clear and present social and economic danger amongst which strategies to adopt are the empaneling of  plate-forms for the development of smart and sustainable economies for region.

We engender sustainable economic models for trade and investment, enable a forum for global conversation on accelerated regional development between the world of business, politics, sports, finance and the media.  Open up economies of the sub-region to trade in knowledge and smart investment initiatives and opportunities.

WAKEOrg is a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria with subsidiary office in ECOWAS French speaking countries.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

  • We will seek to contribute to the development of smart and sustainable economies in Africa.
  • To engender sustainable economic models for trade and investment in the region and across Africa.
  • To enable a forum for global conversation on accelerated regional development between the world of business, sports, finance and the media.
  • Open up economies of the sub-region to knowledge based investment opportunities and initiatives.
  • Help to shape government, civil societies and industry agenda through high level dialogue.
  • Introduce best practices for harmonising economic growth models, interventions and conflicts resolutions.

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT

West Africa Knowledge Economic Organisation is chaired by a President guided by a Board of Trustees of a rainbow colouration consisting of exceptional individuals who are leaders in diverse fields and endeavours to act as guardian of her mission, mandate and core values to oversee the Organisation’s work in promoting these goals, however, the day-to-day administration is under the Management Board who reports quarterly to the Board of Trustees.

Importantly, membership of all board is clearly sensitive to gender equality and adequately reflects same and their core values as well as the business, academia, media and civil society in the French and Anglophone countries of the region.
